This initiative works with many NYC Department of Health (DOH) Projects and Offices to coordinate and strengthen infant mortality reduction efforts. Via our Infant Mortality Reduction (IMRI) Project we target the Haitian, Caribbean population in Brooklyn to provide factual information on prenatal care, family planning, SIDS Prevention, breastfeeding, nutrition, exercise, immunization and more. The project promotes women's health before, during, and after pregnancy, emphasizes the importance of preconception health for a healthy pregnancy, and implements and strengthens specific infant mortality reduction interventions.
