Progress, Advocacy and Action
Here in the Unites States, DCS is diligent in their pursuit of resources which will further benefit CMSP and DCS. Progress, advocacy and action are essential in creating lasting change. In January 2010, DCS and hundreds of their supporters marched through Time Square to the United Nations to bring attention to the conditions in Haiti a year after the earthquake, in May 2011; DCS partnered with New York University to present a forum on Gender Based Violence in Haiti and collaborated with the National Haitian American Health Alliance (NHAHA) to present ‘Haiti: Health in Review’ which featured keynote speaker: Dr. Claude Surena from the Haiti Ministry of Health.
