FUNDING

Private Donations

Every year DCS serves thousands of families, almost all of whom live in poverty, and we provide services most could not afford anywhere else.  The needs we serve are many, but so are the ways YOU can help us each and every day.

Individual Gifts:

A Special Goal

We hope you will consider supporting our efforts via our 20 by 12 Campaign.  This is a simple and effective way of supporting our work with a minimum monthly donation of $20 per month.  Your tax deductible donation will be used to support our various programs and help in building the infrastructure of Diaspora Community Services.

Please consider making an individual contribution to DCS by clicking on the Network for Good link on this page or sending a check to:

Regular Giving:  Making regular, monthly donations is a great way of sustaining our programs year-round.  Just choose an amount and send us a check or have us automatically deduct it from your credit card.  Please call (718) 399-0200 or e-mail us for a Regular Giving Form.

Matching Gifts:  Thousands of employers match contributions of their staff, sometimes even doubling or tripling them.  Ask your HR manager for the form, send it in, and we will do the rest!

Special Events:  Attending our special events is a great way of sharing your support of Diaspora with fellow donors, community members, staff, and friends. You can also serve on planning, steering, and host committees for our events. Upcoming special events.

Tribute Gifts:  Tribute gifts are a great way of honoring someone or marking a special time in life, be it a birthday, anniversary, or a remembrance.  Simply send us your contribution and specify the name and address of the person honored and we will send them a special letter notifying them of the gift.

Sponsorships/Corporate Giving:  Another great way of maximizing your support is to involve your company.  Many companies sponsor events, buy tables, and offer discounts for organizations their employees believe in. Introduce us to your employer.

Planned Giving:  There are a variety of ways to structure a planned gift to the Diaspora Community Services that can help you to minimize both your current taxes and your estate taxes. Approaches to Planned Giving may include bequests, a retirement plan gift whereby Diaspora Community Services is designated as the final beneficiary of your retirement or pension funds, a gift of an existing life insurance policy or the purchase of a new life insurance policy designating Diaspora Community Services as the beneficiary, or a current gift of cash or appreciated securities. To find out which approach best meets your needs, please consult with your attorney.

You may also designate a specific program for any gift, or let us apply it to the greatest need.
