More Than 25 Years in Central Brooklyn

We serve a highly diverse population providing essential health and supportive programs.  We fight AIDS and enable health, wellness, literacy and education... for women, families, seniors and youth.

We make it our mission to maintain the highest standards in the service of of human rights, gender equality, health-care access and opportunity for low-income and immigrant families in Central Brooklyn.

Meeting Challenges, Together

In 2009 our challenges are many:  Our clients are faced with increasing unemployment, poor access to social services and an unyielding housing market which is out of their reach.

Over the last five years Diaspora Community Services has seen enormous growth in the needs of the low-income and immigrant communities it serves. As we strive to meet these needs and maintain our commitment to immigrants and women, our programs have expanded to include a broader spectrum of services for:

·         Youth development
·         HIV-Affected Households
·
Senior Citizens
·         Transitional Living Programs
·         Literacy and Education

Our funders support our efforts because of our successes and the expertise we bring to clients with limited opportunity absent our advocacy and guidance.  This is, in no small part, due to our well-qualified staff, many representing the communities Diaspora serves.  Their experience and training are essential to maintaining a strength-based family-centered approach to improving those opportunities and outcomes.

Nor can we overlook the value of our many community collaborations.  Diaspora benefits greatly by the significant support from an ever-expanding list of community partners as well, from hospitals to churches to community-based, organizations.

We hope you will join us in our work to transform lives.  Please make a donation. Visit us, here, often. Let us share our progress This is a challenge we can meet together!
